Jessie Peterman Memorial Library Quilt
“Memories of Floyd”
Rules for Quilt Block Entries:
1. Quilt blocks should depict a memory of Floyd, VA past or present. The block may represent scenic, historic, cultural, or other feature that evokes memories of Floyd for the maker.
2. Blocks must measure 12 ½ x 12 ½ (this includes ¼ “seam allowance). The block will then measure 12”x12” when sewn into the quilt. Please be accurate so we may include your block in the quilt.
3. Blocks may be pieced, appliquéd, embroidered, or a combination of these. If any embellishments are used they should be sturdy and flat (NOT 3-D)
4. Fabrics used must be woven 100% cotton (no knits or polyester)
5. Do not quilt the block.
6. Completed block must be returned before March 31, 2009. We will attempt to use all blocks received, but reserve the right to reject a block if it does not meet the requirements.
7. Please pin name, and contact information to the block.
8. There is no age requirement and if children wish to do a block a wall hanging for the children’s section of the library will be done.
